Dr. Dennis Colón is a Doctor of Physical Therapy and Head of Athlete Reconditioning at Alliance Regen & Rehab. He is a graduate of Illinois State University where he played D1 baseball. Upon completion of his undergraduate studies, he went on to earn a Doctor of Physical Therapy degree from The University of St. Augustine. He is a former Doctor of Physical Therapy and Athlete Reconditioning Specialist for the Minnesota Twins! His experience in high-performance sports has provided him with mentorship from some of the best minds in sports performance and rehabilitation. His understanding of Rehabilitation Sciences has been enhanced through continuing education courses in areas such as FMS (Functional Movement Screen), SFMA (Selective Functional Movement Analysis), Myokinematic Restoration, Postural Respiration, On-Base U, Functional Patterns, Sports Medicine Running Biomechanics and Return to Sport, Active Release, Myofascial Decompression, and Dry Needling. Dr. Colón has worked in a variety of settings helping people regain, optimize, and enhance athletic performance. Over the course of his career, he has worked extensively with overhead athletes, specializing on treating throwing and running related injuries in athletes. Presently, he is continuing his education by specializing in athlete monitoring, sports science, and implementation of ultrasonography in clinical practice.
